FAQ

Can I make a profit flat betting all horses with Willies?
Probably not.  Maybe for short periods of time, but Willies work best when combined with other good handicapping methods and horse racing systems. They seem to work well with older horses (4 year olds and up). But there are no short cuts to good decision making and handicapping.  The least you should do is take a long hard look at a horse with a Willie and give them extra consideration in your handicapping. As explained in True Handicapping, a fast workout is a signal by a trainer and when combined with two other factors can point out the best bets at any track.

Are there different levels or values of Willies?
No. A Willie is a Willie. Once a horse works well enough to earn one it has it for 30 days.

Do Willies count if a horse worked on an off track?
No. When horses work on off tracks we don't count the works for that day. There is no way for us to determine just how bad the track really was and whether the track condition contributed to the horses exceptional performance.

If Willies are so great, why do you give the information away?
Willies are a great handicapping tool, but like we stated earlier, they aren't enough alone to make a profit. You still have to handicap. We make our income from the advertising and selling systems that can be used with Willies. True Handicapping is designed to work very well with Willies and has a full explanation of Willies and how to find horses with Willies for yourself.

How long does a Willie last?
Usually, we like to see a horse race within 2 weeks of earning a Willie. Most good trainers know that good form is a fleeting thing and try very hard to get the horse into a race as soon as possible.

What's a Morning Glory?
Named after the beautiful flowers that bloom in the morning and quickly fade, there are horses who work very fast in the morning but when placed in a real race they fade quickly. These horses can burn up a bankroll very quickly and unlike the flower they're named for, they aren't beautiful to bettors. Unfortunately they often earn a Willie. That's why we look for a horses first race after a Willie to be it's best. We certainly wouldn't bet one more than twice.
